... Warm and windy with increasing snowmelt and fire weather
concerns through the weekend...
A warm ridge of high pressure will result in warming temperatures
Friday through Sunday. Friday will warm into the 70s across the
lower elevations but with light wind. On Saturday, it will be even
warmer with highs in the mid 70s to lower 80s but with a warm
south to southwest wind. Sunday will be warm and windy in most
areas ahead of a strong cold front.
The rapid warmup Friday into the weekend will likely result in
increased snowmelt with the potential for some flooding near the
smaller streams and creeks in and near the foothills. Stay alert
and report any rising water or flooding to local law enforement or
the National Weather Service in Riverton.
Besides the flooding potential, there will be an increased fire
weather concern beginning Friday as it becomes quite dry with
miniumum relative humidities from around 10 percent into the teens
but with light wind. Saturday will be warmer yet with a gusty
south to southwest wind increasing the fire weather threat
further. Sunday will be windy and warm with continued fire weather
concerns. Please montior the latest forecast and avoid burning
over the weekend.
