Clay, Blaine, Babcock State Park, Yatesville lake State Park, Oak
Hill, Montgomery, Chesapeake, Marmet, Mount Hope, Ansted, Oceana,

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest
Virginia, and West Virginia, including the following areas, in
northeast Kentucky, Boyd, Carter, Greenup, and Lawrence KY. In
southeast Ohio, Athens, Gallia, Jackson OH, Lawrence OH,
Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington. In southwest
Virginia, Buchanan and Dickenson. In West Virginia, Barbour,
Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Gilmer,
Harrison, Jackson WV, Kanawha, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Mason,
McDowell, Mingo, northwest Fayette, northwest Nicholas,
northwest Pocahontas, northwest Raleigh, northwest Randolph,
northwest Webster, Pleasants, Putnam, Ritchie, Roane,
southeast Fayette, southeast Nicholas, southeast Pocahontas,
southeast Raleigh, southeast Randolph, southeast Webster,
Taylor, Tyler, Upshur, Wayne, Wirt, wood, and Wyoming.

* Through late tonight

* in general, 1 and a half to 3 and a half inches of rain is
possible across the watch area, with locally heavier amounts,
as the remnants of Tropical Depression Cindy combine with a
cold front dropping in from the northwest.

* Timing will have the heaviest band of rain, associated with the
remnants of Cindy riding up along an east southeastward moving
cold front, over southeast Ohio and northwest West Virginia this
afternoon and then shift southeastward across the entire area
later this afternoon and tonight, ending early Saturday morning

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

near Louisa, moving east at 40 mph.

Locations impacted include...
Charleston, Williamson, Madison, Fayetteville, Louisa, Logan, Clay,
Blaine, Yatesville lake State Park, Oak Hill, Montgomery, Chesapeake,
Marmet, Mount Hope, Ansted, Oceana, Belle, Chapmanville, Cedar Grove
and East Bank.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 79 between mile markers 34 and 38.
Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 96 and 99.
West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 51 and 95.
Route 119 between mile markers 1 and 65, and near mile marker 69.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
