Special Statement

Statement as of 10:24 AM CST on March 01, 2017

Expires 1:00 PM EST on March 01, 2017

... Wet to snow covered and slippery roads continue late this morning...

As of 1015 am, the band of moderate to occasionally heavy snow,
with snowfall rates of 1/2 to 1 inch per hour, was mainly over
central into north central Wisconsin. Visibilities as low as 1/4
mile were occurring in some of this snow.

The snow was tapering off across parts of southeast Minnesota and
northeast Iowa, mainly west of a Rochester to New Hampton line.
Roads across the area varied from wet where the snow had let up a
bit or Road crews had treated, to snow covered and slippery in the
heavier snowfall areas or Road crews had yet to treat.

Another 1 to locally 2 inches of snow are possible east of the
Mississippi River before the snow starts to taper off around noon.
Additional snow amounts west of the Mississippi River will mainly
be 1/2 inch or less. Use caution if traveling this morning and be
sure to allow yourself some extra time to reach your destination.
