... Heat advisory remains in effect from noon Thursday to 8 PM PDT
Friday...

* high temperatures... 100 to 106 degrees by Thursday and Friday
afternoons.

* Timing... hottest temperatures will occur between 2 PM and 6 PM.
Overnight lows Thursday night will run in the mid to upper 60s.

* Impacts... the potential exists for heat exhaustion and heat
stroke due to the hot temperatures.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot daytime temperatures and warm
overnight low temperatures will combine to create a situation in
which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay
in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check up
on relatives and neighbors.





Fire Weather Watch

... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Friday afternoon through
Saturday evening for wind and low relative humidity for the
Kittitas Valley region and surrounding Cascade valleys...

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Fire Weather
Watch for wind and low relative humidity... which is in effect from
Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.

* Affected area: fire weather zone 676 East Washington south
central Cascade valleys (zone 676).

* Winds: northwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative humidities: 12 to 22 percent.

* Impacts: rapid fire spread is possible with existing fires or
new fire starts in the area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.

Saturday evening for gusty winds and low humidity for fire zone
675...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Fire
Weather Watch... which is in effect from Friday afternoon through
Saturday evening.

* Affected area... fire weather zone 675 eastern Washington
Columbia Basin... mainly the southeast Kittitas Valley... the
Yakima Valley... and the Hanford district.

* Timing... lowest relative humidity combined with stronger winds
expected to occur between 4 PM through 8 PM Friday and again on
Saturday.

* Wind... west to northwest wind 10 to 20 mph Friday through
Saturday.

* Humidity... as low as 10 percent.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended. Do not release fireworks
near areas of dry vegetation or flammable material.
