... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM EST
Tuesday...

* locations... the southern Adirondacks region... Lake George
Saratoga region... and southern Vermont.

* Hazard types... snow... sleet... freezing rain.

* Snow and sleet accumulation... 4 to 8 inches.

* Ice accumulation... a coating to a tenth of an inch is possible
across portions of the Lake George region and southern Vermont.

* Timing... a mixture of snow and sleet will spread across the
areas this evening from south to north. Precipitation will
continue for the overnight hours and will be moderate to locally
heavy at times. Precipitation will taper off early Tuesday
afternoon.

* Impacts... snow and slush covered roads and low visibility will
make for hazardous travel. Sidewalks, driveways and parking
lots will be very slippery. The combination of gusty winds and
wet snowfall may lead to some localized power outages as well.

* Winds... .northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Locally
higher gusts to 50 mph possible over southern Vermont.

* Temperatures... in the upper 20s to mid 30s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.





Wind Advisory

Statement as of 4:20 PM EST on January 23, 2017

Expires 7:00 AM EST on January 24, 2017


... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST Tuesday...

* locations... Taconics of New York... southern Green Mountains of
Vermont... Berkshires of Massachusetts and Litchfield County
Connecticut.

* Winds... east to northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Timing... the winds will increase tonight. The winds will start
to decrease tomorrow towards daybreak. The winds will be
strongest across the higher elevations and in areas where the
winds can funnel between the hills and mountains.

* Impacts... .downed trees and trees limbs will lead to isolated
to scattered power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are
expected... with gusts between 46 to 57 mph. Winds this strong are
capable of Downing small tree limbs and branches... possibly
causing isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

... Mixed precipitation continues this evening across portions of
eastern New York and western New England...

A mixture of sleet... freezing rain and rain continues over the
eastern Catskills... Mid Hudson valley... greater capital
region... Berkshires... northwest Connecticut... Taconics... the
Mohawk Valley... and southern Vermont through 1100 PM. The freezing
rain has been over elevated surfaces of a 1000 feet or greater
with pockets in the valley areas. The sleet continues to be heavy
at times with some locations getting potentially a half an inch
to an inch the next few hours. Temperatures will continue to hover
in the upper 20 to mid 30s.

Untreated sleet and ice covered roadways will become treacherous.
If you are traveling across the region tonight... please be aware
of the possibility of rapidly changing Road conditions due to the
mixed precipitation and exercise caution.
