northeastern Waller... northern Grimes... Brazos... Montgomery...
northwestern Harris and southwestern Madison counties...

At 352 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned
area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding
is already occurring.

the Trinity River near Moss Bluff.
* From Tuesday morning until further notice... or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0130 am Friday the stage was 10.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.2 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to rise to near flood stage Tuesday morning.
* At 12.2 feet... minor lowland flooding begins in the vicinity of the gage.

* Flood Warning for
the Trinity River in Liberty.
* From Sunday morning to late Monday night... or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0115 am Friday the stage was 22.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late Sunday morning and continue to rise
to near 26.2 feet by Sunday evening. The river will fall below flood stage by
Monday afternoon.
* At 26.0 feet... minor lowland flooding begins and significant lowland flooding
in the vicinity of the gage can be expected as roads into some outlying
communities above the gage begin to flood.

The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the East Fork San Jacinto near New Caney.
* From Saturday afternoon to Monday evening... or until the warning is canceled.
* At 1100 PM Thursday the stage was 8.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Saturday afternoon and continue to rise
to near 19.8 feet by Sunday afternoon. The river will fall below flood
stage by late Monday morning.
* At 20.0 feet... moderate lowland flooding begins with minor and secondary roads
near the river inundated.

... The Flood Advisory remains in effect until 730 am CDT for
northwestern Liberty... San Jacinto... east central Montgomery... Polk
and Trinity counties...

At 607 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated the heaviest rains have
moved out of the area. River or stream flows may still be elevated
from earlier rainfall and ponding of water may still be occurring.
With additional storms possibly moving into the area from the west
and northwest within the next hour... the Flood Advisory will remain
in effect until 730 am CDT.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southeast Texas... including the following
Austin... Brazos... Burleson... Fort ... Bend... Grimes... Harris...
Houston... Liberty... Madison... Montgomery... Polk... San
Jacinto... Trinity... Walker... Waller and Washington.

* Through this evening

* areas of moderate to heavy rain have trained across much of the
area since Thursday. Rainfall totals so far have averaged from
10 to 20 inches across locations along and north of a line from
Brenham to Conroe. Hardest hit counties have been Washington...
Brazos... Burleson... Grimes and Montgomery.

* Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected with
isolated amounts from 3 to 6 inches through this morning. Due to
already saturated grounds... any heavy rainfall will run off quickly
and will produce more flood and flash flood problems.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take
action should flash flood warnings be issued.

A record rainfall of 5.76 inches was set at College Station
yesterday. This breaks the old record of 1.02 inches set
in 1976.

Further south... Brenham recorded 16.62 inches of rain
yesterday which was also a daily rainfall record.

yesterday. Rainfall totals at the automated weather observation
system (awos) tallied 16.62 inches. This is the wettest calendar
