The National Weather Service in Midland has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
western Loving County in West Texas...
northwestern Reeves County in southwest Texas...
northern Culberson County in southwest Texas...
southern Eddy County in southeast New Mexico...

* until 645 am MDT Tuesday/745 am CDT Tuesday/

* at 755 PM CDT... local emergency management officials have
reported numerous roads remain closed due to flooding across
Eddy County. Other small roads may be flooded across
northern Culberson County or northwestern Reeves County.
Persons traveling through the area at night should be very
cautious not to drive into areas where water cover the Road.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. Act quickly if flooding is observed. Move to
higher ground.

* Flood Warning for flooding on the Pecos River...
southwestern Loving County in West Texas...
northwestern Ward County in West Texas...
north central Reeves County in southwest Texas...

* until 600 am CDT Tuesday

* at 555 PM CDT... at 1210 PM CDT... local emergency management
officials continue to report flooding along the Pecos River from
Orla to the city of Pecos. Emergency management in Loving County
reported minor flooding on the west side of Mentone. Due to
continued moderate to heavy rainfall upstream... flooding along
the Pecos River is expected to continue until Tuesday.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Rio Grande at Johnson Ranch.
* From this evening until further notice, or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 8am Monday the stage was 12.6 feet (3.8 meters).
* Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet (4.6 meters).
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 15.9 feet (4.8 meters) by Friday evening.
* Impact... at 15.0 feet (4.6 meters), flood stage is reached.
Moderate lowland flooding begins. Roads that lead to Cottonwood
Campground and River Road may flood. Stages are practically
synonymous with the gage at Cottonwood Campground at Castolon
(cstt2), and therefore represent The Reach from Santa Elena Canyon
through Cottonwood Campground, where damage may occur. Cattle also
graze in The Lowlands, and may be threatened.

This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.1 feet (4.6 meters) on
Jul 22 2013.
