* at 539 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Kennett Square to Back River, moving east at 30
mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Impact... minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect damage to
           trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
Philadelphia, Camden, Wilmington, Newark, Middletown, West Chester,
Elkton, Havre de Grace, Gloucester City, Calvert, Chester,
Willingboro, Deptford, West Deptford, Pennsville, Bellmawr, Yeadon,
Westtown, Woodbury and Burlington.

In addition to large hail and damaging winds... frequent cloud to
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors

* at 455 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms moving into the advisory area from the west. This
will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to one or two
inches of rain may fall in a short period of time.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
West Chester, Elkton, Calvert, Norristown, Pottstown, Phoenixville,
Lansdale, West Norriton, East Norriton, Coatesville, Westtown,
Quakertown, Perkasie, Doylestown, Downingtown, Souderton,
Bedminster, Ambler, Kennett Square and Collegeville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Delaware, northeast Maryland, New Jersey, and
Pennsylvania, including the following areas, in Delaware, Kent
and New Castle. In northeast Maryland, Caroline, Cecil, Kent
MD, Queen Annes, and Talbot. In New Jersey, Camden,
Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, northwestern
Burlington, Salem, Somerset, Sussex, Warren, and western
Monmouth. In Pennsylvania, Berks, Delaware, eastern Chester,
eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, lower Bucks, Northampton,
Philadelphia, upper Bucks, western Chester, and western
Montgomery.

* Until midnight EDT tonight

* multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms can be expected
through tonight. Torrential downpours with storms that develop
this evening could produce rainfall rates greater than 2 inches
per hour. While the entire area will not receive heavy rain,
isolated rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches are possible where
storms track over the same locations.

* Torrential rain falling in a short period of time will result
in rapidly rising water levels along streams and creeks and in
areas of poor drainage. Significant roadway flooding is
possible in isolated areas.
