Flash Flood Warning

... A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 445 am EDT for
Monroe... western Wayne... northwestern Ontario and northern Livingston
counties...

At 156 am EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to
indicate a thunderstorm producing flash flooding over the warned
area. An additional third to two-thirds of an inch of rainfall is possible
through the remainder of the warning.

Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Penfield...
Ontario... Hamlin beach... Webster... Spencerport... Rochester...
Irondequoit... Hilton... Greece... gates-North Gates... gates...
Fairport... East Rochester... Churchville... Brockport and Brighton

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

creeks and streams... country roads... as well as farmland along the
banks of creeks and streams.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flash flooding is observed act quickly. Move
up to higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas
subject to flooding when water begins rising.

southwestern Ontario and eastern Livingston counties...

At 154 am EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to
indicate thunderstorms producing flash flooding over the warned
area. An additional quarter to half inch of rainfall is likely
through the remainder of the warning.

Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Groveland...
Honeoye... Hemlock... Conesus... Bristol... Lima... Geneseo... Canandaigua
and Avon

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* western New York.

* Through Monday afternoon.

* An area of low pressure and a potent upper level disturbance
will cross the region tonight through the first half of
Monday. This storm system has the potential to produce locally
heavy rainfall across portions of western New York with 2 to 3
inches of rain possible in some locations where heavy rain
persists the longest.

* Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall may produce flooding in
poor drainage and low lying areas. If more widespread rainfall
amounts reach 2 inches flooding will also be possible along
some of the area rivers and creeks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be
alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to
flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding
