The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northeastern Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...
southern Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico...

* until 515 PM MDT

* at 318 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
thunderstorm producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to
2.25 inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is likely
along Forest roads 103 and 126 near the Sandoval and Rio Arriba
County line. The far upper reaches of the jemez river will also be
impacted.

* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern
Sandoval and southern Rio Arriba counties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Do not Camp along streams and rivers. Remain alert when hiking in
steep... narrow canyons. Know where you are relative to low spots and
drainages.

southeastern Bernalillo County in central New Mexico...
north central Torrance County in central New Mexico...

* until 445 PM MDT

* at 245 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
thunderstorm producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to
two inches of rain have already fallen and expect an additional
0.5 to 1 inch. Flash flooding is likely along portions of Highway
217 and 7 east of Ponderosa and north of Chilili.

* Locations impacted include...
Chilili... Escabosa... Miera and Ponderosa Pines.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Turn around... Don/T drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flash
flood deaths occur in vehicles.

northeastern Bernalillo County in central New Mexico...

* until 500 PM MDT

* at 301 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to a cluster of thunderstorms from Tijeras
extending northward to Sandia Park and westward to near Carnuel.
Expect between 1 to 1.5 inches of rainfall.

* Locations impacted include...
Tijeras... Cedar Crest... Sandia Park... Canoncito in Bernalillo
County... Cedro... San Antonito and Carnuel.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 171 and 179.

Other locations affected include Cole Spring picnic area and Pine
Flat picnic area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

The heavy rainfall and slow movement of these storms may result in
flooding of Road intersections and low-lying
areas. Waters may begin to run in normally dry arroyos.

Harding County... Jemez Mountains... middle Rio Grande
Valley/Albuquerque Metro area... northeast Highlands... northern
Sangre de Cristos above 9500 feet/Red River... northwest
Highlands... Quay County... Roosevelt County... Sandia/Manzano
Mountains... Santa Fe Metro area... south Central Highlands...
southern Sangre de Cristos above 9500 feet... west Central
Highlands... west central mountains and west slopes Sangre de
Cristo Mountains.

* Until midnight MDT tonight

* a very moist and unstable atmosphere along with afternoon
heating has led to the development of numerous showers and
thunderstorms with heavy rainfall. This activity will move
slowly southward over the area and increase the threat for
flash flooding through this evening.

* Wildfire burn scar areas... steep terrain... and urban drainage
basins will be the most susceptible to flash flooding through
this evening. A few areas may pick up to 2 inches of rain...
with even higher amounts possible where storms repeatedly
impact the same area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash
flood warnings be issued.

heavy rain due to a cluster of thunderstorms over rural northeast
Catron County. A large portion of the water from the storms will
drain towards Alamo. Expect between 1 to 1.5 inches of rainfall.

* Locations impacted include...
Alamo.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous flows
in arroyos and over low water crossings.
Do not attempt to drive through these waters. Water in arroyos may
travel many miles and take hours to reach
your location from upstream rain areas.

heavy rain due to a cluster of thunderstorms west and northwest of
Jemez Springs. Between 0.5 to 1 inch of rain has already fallen
within middle and upper portions of the jemez river basin.

* Locations impacted include...
Jemez Springs... Fenton Lake State Park and Jemez State Monument.

Other locations affected include the following locations
Rio las vacas campground... Vista Linda campground... and Seven Springs
day use area.
