southeastern Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...
west central Santa Fe County in north central New Mexico...

* until 915 PM MDT

* at 718 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
thunderstorm producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash
flooding is likely. County roads 53/52a/57 and Galisteo dam area
will be impacted. Expect between 1.4 to 2.3 inches of rainfall.

* Locations impacted include...
Santo Domingo Pueblo... San Felipe Pueblo... La Bajada... Kewa
Pueblo... Cerrillos Hills State Park... los Cerrillos... Domingo...
Pena Blanca and Algodones.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.

southwestern Santa Fe County in north central New Mexico...
eastern Bernalillo County in central New Mexico...
northwestern Torrance County in central New Mexico...
southeastern Valencia County in central New Mexico...

* until 730 PM MDT

* at 526 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to numerous thunderstorms along and just east of
the Sandia and Manzano Mountains. Rain rates in stronger cells
were well over 1 inch per hour. Much of this rain will follow
arroyos and small streams from their headwaters near mountain
crests into the Estancia valley. The potential exists for flash
flooding to develop.

* Locations impacted include...
Moriarty... Estancia... Edgewood... Tijeras... Willard... Escabosa...
McIntosh... Sedillo... Chilili and Cedar Grove.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 176 and 198.

Other locations affected include the following locations
Capilla Peak campground... Fourth of July campground... New Canyon
campground... Red Canyon campground... Tajique campground... Pine
Shadows trailhead... and Pine Flat picnic area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous
flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to
drive through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles
and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

McKinley County. Rainfall will range between 0.75 to 1.3 inches.
Highway 491 will be impacted near Yah ta hey.

heavy rain due to a cluster of thunderstorms. Expect between 0.75
to 1.4 inches across a large portion of the advisory area.
Normally dry arroyos between Fort Wingate and Coolidge as well as
north of Ramah will flow with water.

* Locations impacted include...
northeastern Gallup... Thoreau... Church Rock... McGaffey...
Vanderwagen... Coolidge... Ramah... Fort Wingate... Upper Nutria and
Red Rock.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 30 and 52.

* a very moist air mass remains in place over much of New Mexico...
and additional showers and thunderstorms are expected to
periodically develop today and tonight. There is potential for
periods of heavy rainfall... and rainfall rates will commonly
approach 1 to 3 inches per hour with some heavier downpours
possible in localized areas.

* Flash flooding will be most susceptible around steep terrain...
urban drainages... and areas that have recently experienced heavy
rainfall over the past few days.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash
flood warnings be issued.
