... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am EDT this morning...

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 9 am EDT this morning.

* Visibility... widespread visibility of less than 1/2 mile.

* Impacts... reduced visibility producing hazardous driving
conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to one quarter mile or less. If driving, slow down, use
low beam headlights, and leave plenty of following distance.
Exercise additional caution at intersections and Highway onramps
and offramps where accidents are more likely to occur.

... Scattered pockets of dense fog across central and eastern
portions of North Carolina this morning...

Cooling air temperatures combined with wet soils from the heavy
rain received yesterday across central and eastern portions of
North Carolina has led to scattered pockets of dense fog this
morning. These pockets of dense fog will impact commuting early
Wednesday, occasionally reducing visibility to a 1/4 mile or
less. Motorists are urged to drive below the posted speed limit
and use your low beam headlights.
