The Flood Warning continues for
the Missouri River at Waverly.
* Until further notice.
* At 2:30 PM Friday the stage was 25.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 30.7 feet by
Sunday evening. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage Thursday
afternoon.
* At 30.5 feet... Baltimore Bend levee may be overtopped. Widespread
flooding of farmland, rural homes, along with primary and secondary
roads behind the levee may occur.
* At 23.5 feet... rural areas along the river which are not protected
by levees flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Missouri River at Napoleon.
* Until further notice.
* At 2:00 PM Friday the stage was 23.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 27.6 feet by
early Sunday morning then begin falling.
* At 25.0 feet... rural areas unprotected by levees flood.
* At 24.5 feet... the Missouri-Pacific Railroad tracks are overtopped.
* At 17.0 feet... low-lying areas unprotected by levees begin to
flood.

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 1045 PM CDT Friday for
Pettis... southeastern Lafayette... Johnson... southwestern Saline and
northeastern Cass counties...

At 1248 PM CDT... local law enforcement officials reported flooding
across the warned area. Flooding has been reported along Highway E
in Valley City along the Blackwater river and along Highway 23 along
the Blackwater river south of Concordia.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lee's Summit... Belton... Sedalia... Raymore... Warrensburg...
Pleasant Hill... Knob noster... Concordia... Holden... Sweet Springs...
Whiteman Air Force Base... La Monte... Lake Winnebago... Smithton...
Leeton... Green Ridge... Chilhowee... East Lynne...
Kingsville and Houstonia.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... farmland... and other low lying
spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

At 1206 PM CDT... local law enforcement officials reported flooding
across the warned area. Flooding as been reported on Hwy dd along
Castle Creek near Frazier... on Highway E along dicks creek westof
Ridgely... and on Highway b north of Hoover. Additional Road flooding
has been reported in Smithville.

Some additional locations that will experience flooding include...
Kansas City... Overland Park... Olathe... Independence... Lee's
Summit... St. Joseph... Shawnee... Blue
Springs... Lenexa... Leavenworth...
Leawood... Raytown... Liberty... Gladstone... Grandview... Prairie
Village... Raymore... Gardner... Grain Valley and Lansing.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

* several rounds of thunderstorms are expected across eastern
Kansas and western Missouri through tomorrow morning. This
additional rainfall combined with the rain that has already
fallen this week could lead to flash flooding.
