* at 518 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
band of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the advisory
area. Doppler radar estimated rainfall rates around an inch per
hour with these storms.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
occur... especially along small streams and near low water
crossings. Some locations that will experience minor flooding
include... Albany... Bethany... Cameron... Gower... Lathrop...
Maysville... Plattsburg... agency... Cainsville... Camden Point...
Clarksdale... Dearborn... Eagleville... Edgerton... Gilman City... King
City... New Hampton... Osborn... Pattonsburg... Ridgeway...
Stewartsville and Trimble.

St. Joseph picked up 1.36 inches between 4 and 5 am as the heaviest
portion of band moved through.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An additional one to two inches of rainfall are still possible as
this band of rain moves through the advisory area.

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause minor flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... as well as farmland along the
banks of creeks and streams.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

characterized Kansas City weather in September...

The average temperature at the Kansas City International Airport was
66.9 degrees, which was 1.3 degrees below normal. The average high
temperature was 76.4 degrees, or 2.6 degrees below normal. The
average low temperature was 57.3 degrees which was normal. The
highest temperature for the month was 91 degrees on the 4th. The
lowest temperature was 37 degrees on the 13th.

Precipitation came in at 2.20 inches for the month, or 2.42 inches
below normal. The greatest total in a 24 hour period was 1.64 inches
on the 1st.
