Clinton County in northwestern Missouri...

* at 954 PM CDT... emergency management and law officials have
reported multiple roads closed across the region due to
thunderstorms with heavy rain. Additional strong storms tonight
will result in heavy rain which could cause more flash flooding.
Widespread rainfall amounts of one to two inches has fallen... with
some local areas receiving over 4 inches of rain.

Lee's Summit... St. Joseph... Shawnee... Blue Springs... Lenexa...
Leavenworth... Leawood... Raytown... Liberty... Gladstone...

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

* several rounds of thunderstorms are expected across eastern Kansas
and western Missouri through tomorrow morning. This additional
