The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill MO has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the stranger creek near Tonganoxie.
* From late Sunday night to Tuesday morning.
* At 9:30 PM Saturday the stage was 5.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Monday morning and
continue to rise to near 23.3 feet by Monday morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by Monday morning.
* At 23.0 feet... low-lying farmland along the creek floods.

* From Sunday evening to Tuesday afternoon.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to have a maximum value of 18.6
feet Monday morning.
* At 18.0 feet... 1st street in Easton and 231st street north and
south of Easton begin to flood.
* At 17.0 feet... water enters low-lying fields south of Easton.

* until 430 am CDT Sunday

* at 1020 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
an area of heavy rainfall across the advisory area. Doppler
radar and rain gauges measured one-half to one inch of rain has
already fallen across the advisory area... and up to an additional
one inch of rain is possible during the next few hours.

* Runoff from this rainfall will cause minor flooding to occur...
especially along small streams and near low water crossings. Some
locations that will experience minor flooding include... Basehor...

Chariton... Clay... Clinton... Cooper... Daviess... De Kalb...

Livingston... Pettis... Platte... Randolph... ray and Saline.

* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Monday morning

* moderate to heavy rains may lead to localized flooding this weekend
through Monday morning. Basin areal rainfall averages of 1.5 to 3
inches will be common through the period... with locally higher
amounts possible.

* Many rivers and streams are running at elevated levels due to heavy
rains experienced earlier this week. Additional moderate to heavy
rainfall this weekend will likely lead to further rises and
possible flooding to susceptible areas.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
