The National Weather Service in Topeka, KS has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Wakarusa river at Wakarusa.
* Until late Friday night.
* At 10:15 PM Thursday the stage was 12.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Friday morning and
continue to rise to near 20.2 feet by Friday morning.The river will
fall below flood stage by Friday early afternoon.

northern Wabaunsee County in east central Kansas...
Shawnee County in east central Kansas...
Jackson County in northeastern Kansas...
eastern Pottawatomie County in northeastern Kansas...

* until 115 am CDT

* at 1052 PM CDT... local law enforcement reported flash flooding in
the warned area with Road closures occurring. 1 to 3 inches of
rain have already fallen and an additional 1 to 2 inches is
possible with another round of thunderstorms late this evening.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Topeka... Wamego... Holton... Rossville... Alma... Tecumseh... St. Marys...
Richland... Dover... Silver Lake... Auburn... Onaga... Hoyt... Maple Hill...
Mayetta... McFarland... Paxico... Belvue... Emmett and Louisville.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 between mile markers 323 and 355.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 166 and 188.

the Soldier Creek near Delia.
* From late tonight to Friday evening.
* At 9:01 PM Thursday the stage was 24.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Friday morning and
continue to rise to near 26.3 feet by Friday morning.The river will
fall below flood stage by Friday morning.
* Impact... at 26.5 feet... 106th Road in southern Jackson County floods
about 200 feet west of Soldier Creek.

* Through Friday afternoon

* several rounds of thunderstorms are expected through Friday
morning across north central and northeast Kansas. Heavy
rainfall has fallen across the area over the last few days and
additional heavy rains could lead to flash flooding as well as
flooding of streams and creeks.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

area on Friday to survey tornado damage from a storm that moved
through Thursday afternoon.
