The Flood Warning continues for
the Salt Creek at Barnard.
* Until Monday morning.
* At 6:50 PM Friday the stage was 23.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 24.0 feet by
early Saturday morning. The river will fall below flood stage
Sunday early afternoon.
* Impact... at 24.0 feet... expect flooding of agricultural fields to an
extent of 3/4 of a mile coverage. Flood waters cover parts of
Highway 284 east of the river.

including the following areas... in central Kansas... Barton...
Chase... Ellsworth... Lincoln... Marion... McPherson... Rice...
Russell and Saline. In south central Kansas... Butler...
Harvey... Kingman... Reno and Sedgwick.

* Through Saturday morning.

* Soils are already saturated from recent rainfall over the past
several days with additional chances for thunderstorms
expected through tonight. Any additional rain may exacerbate
ongoing flooding concerns or lead to additional flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember to turn around... don't drown.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
