Areal Flood Advisory, Flash Flood Watch

... The small stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until 715 PM MDT
for central Weld... northeastern Washington and northern Morgan
counties...

At 640 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain causing small
stream flooding in the advisory area. At this time... the heaviest
rainfall was occurring over central and southeastern sections of
Morgan County. Minor flooding was reported in the brush area.

The storms appear to be weakening at this time. Minor flooding of
creeks and streams... with standing water in low lying areas... may
linger into the early evening hours then gradually decrease as well.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fort Morgan... Akron... brush... Log Lane Village... Otis... Hillrose...
Briggsdale... Goodrich... Jackson Reservoir... Antelope Springs...
midway... Platner... Weldona... Snyder and Orchard.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Morgan County in northeast Colorado...

* until 715 PM MDT

* at 410 PM MDT... a thunderstorm producing heavy rain was located 4
miles southwest of Antelope Springs... or 8 miles north of Fort
Morgan... moving northeast at 5 mph.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fort Morgan... brush... Wiggins... Log Lane Village... Hillrose...
Goodrich... Jackson Reservoir... Weldona... Snyder... Antelope Springs
and Orchard.

* This advisory replaces the earlier Flood Advisory for southwest
Morgan County.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday
afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Colorado... east central Colorado... north
central Colorado and northeast Colorado. The watch includes
areas from the Front Range mountains and Mosquito Range eastward
to Weld... Morgan... Washington and Lincoln counties.

* Through Wednesday afternoon

* widespread showers and thunderstorms will produce 1 to 3 inches
of rain this afternoon through Wednesday. Some thunderstorms may
be stationary or redevelop over the same places and produce
even higher rainfall amounts over smaller areas.

* Flash flooding of low lying areas... creeks and streams is likely
to occur in several locations this afternoon and evening. Rock
and mud slides are also likely in the foothills. If you live in
flood prone areas or will be traveling... stay alert to the
latest warnings and be prepared for rapidly rising water
levels.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Be prepared to evacuate low lying areas and move to higher ground
should flooding develop or a warning be issued. Be aware of the
flooding danger today... stay out of flooded areas and do not drive
on flooded roads.
